All portraits are drawn personally by me, freehand, starting from a blank sheet of paper.
Send me your photo/s by post or email and I'll contact you within 72 hours to discuss your requirements. I'll confirm the price and expected completion date - which is usually about three weeks.
If you would like to proceed with an order send me a £25 non-refundable deposit (by Paypal, cheque, or credit card via Paypal) and I will start work.
When finished I will email a scan of your drawing for approval. Once you are completely satisfied, send me the balance of your payment and I will send you your picture by your selected method.
I draw animals, head and shoulders only, in colour or graphite but some animals have coats that are unsuitable for graphite work. It may be possible to achieve a monochrome effect using pastels, which I will discuss with you if it arises.
For coloured portraits I use pencil or pastel at my discretion.
Portraits of people are also head and shoulders only and are usually in graphite.
Frames
Your picture is ready-mounted to fit a standard frame or you can take to the local framer's workshop. But if you want it 'ready to hang' or to present as a gift I can supply it framed. (As long as it is practicable for me to deliver, or you to collect. I am unwilling to risk glass in the post.) I will choose a suitable frame from my stock of 'second-user' or end of range frames. These may have some small marks so if you do not like your frame for any reason then return it and I will change it for another from my stock or refund what you paid for it.
Copyright
Photographs are copyright, and ownership usually belongs to the person who took the photo, or the person who paid for it to be taken. For each photo you send me you are granting me an indefinite licence to use it, copy it, and display it in any way - so it is important that you own the copyright or have permission to grant this licence.
Further, for each photo you send me you are agreeing to indemnify me against any costs arising from claims made against me by a person claiming to own the copyright.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are non-refundable and can be used against the price prevailing when the commission is agreed, which date must be within twelve months of the issue of the voucher.
Other terms and conditions
If you do not wish to purchase the finished portrait, you will forfeit the initial deposit and I will retain the drawing and its copyright will vest in me, along with the right to display and sell it and images of it to a third party.
I may place an image of your purchased portrait in my web gallery unless you specifically request me not to do so.
Your payment of the deposit constitutes your confirmation that you have read and understood all the information on this page.
